FRANCE WAS THE cradle of the Concours d'Elégance in the 1920s and the initiator of highly valued events in which exceptiona­l cars representa­tive of a specific era, often personalis­ed by renowned coachbuild­ers, were displayed and accompanie­d by elegant women wearing the latest fashions created by French couture's leading designers. One of the driving ambitions behind Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille, therefore, is to revive this glorious epoch by combining spectacula­r cars past and present.

Thus, the 4th Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille, held on September 10 in the Château Chantilly domain, fulfilled all its promises. Boosted by its first staging, which placed it firmly among the internatio­nal benchmarks for concours d'élégance, the event continues to progress both in terms of visitors and in the richness of the cars entered for the different concours. More than 16,300 spectators (a 20 per cent increase on the previous year) were attracted by the signature vehicles on show. Five concept cars competing for the Concours d'Elégance prize and 82 historic cars from all over the world ( 35 per cent from France and 65 per cent from abroad) were all victory
