Omega launches the new Trésor collection at its newest boutique in Hong Kong, calling for a double-celebration
Omega launches the new Trésor collection at its newest Hong Kong boutique; double happiness time
IN HONG KONG, when throngs of people gather excitedly around any storefront, they're often waiting for the imminent arrival of a Korean celebrity. Earlier last month at the opening of Omega's new boutique on Pedder Street, eager fans almost knocked over security barriers trying to catch a glimpse of Song Hye-kyo, whose credentials include the mega-hit TV dramas Descendants of the Sun, The Wind Blows and Autumn in Our Hearts. Such is the star power of Song – Berlin can have Kaia Gerber, but here in Hong Kong, we're all-in for Song.
Song was at the opening of Omega's 12th corporate boutique in Hong Kong, where the brand was also celebrating the local launch of the reimagined De Ville Trésor collection. Available in 36mm or 39mm sizes, the watches are also distinguished by their thin case, which features two rows of diamonds curving along each side and a single diamond set within the crown. The brand has also switched up the logo on the crown; now, fi ve Omega logos in red liquid ceramic slightly overlap with each other in a round to form an elegant flower.
The collection comes in nine variations, characterised by a range of materials and colours, with three jewellery editions that were on preview at the party, including a garnet model with a bold red dial, an 18K Canopus gold model with a deep-blue aventurine dial and another 18K Canopus gold model pavéd with baguette- cut diamonds.
Song, who browsed the collection with Omega president Raynald Aeschlimann, says, “These watches are very elegant and contemporary, which fit well with my style, and they are easy to pair with outfits for various occasions.” Aeschlimann, for his part, says the watches were designed to inspire a new generation of women: “Omega has been dedicated to producing exceptional watches for women for years – not mere accessories, but watches that reflect a woman's strength, wisdom, beauty and style.”
The new Trésor collection embraces all this. Following the celebration at the new boutique, the party continued on at The Annex, an industrial-style gallery space that was illuminated with the Trésor's youthful and elegant aesthetic. Pass around canapés? How old-fashioned. Instead, canapé walls were installed, with light bites for guests to pick and choose from at ease. We mingled with guests including Jessica Jann and Kayla Wong, jammed to the tunes of DJ Maika Loubté and chatted with Aeschlimann, who was delighted to be back in Hong Kong and celebrating a work anniversary. Happy anniversary, Mr President! And congratulations on the amazing milestones Omega has achieved in just the past month alone.
