If you've never experienced the work of Beijing-born and educated painter Wang Yuping, break the habit. He brings Tedious Paradise to Tang Contemporary Art Hong Kong at H Queen's, showcasing work he made while travelling in Thailand, including the locally-flavoured Tuk Tuk and Lady Boy, the watercolour series Cat, and the small Starbucks works. Also at the exhibit is Beihai Park, his Beijing sketch series acclaimed for its relaxed, virtuoso technique. Wang's work is distinguished by its simple, languid and quiet emotion, capturing the reality of streets and cities in which time passes too quickly and memories flow and afterglow inexorably like water. Make time for yourself to stop and see. ( Until July 28). tangcontempo
