For my birthday earlier this year, I opted to celebrate at rockstar chef Tom Sellers’ London Bridge eatery, Restaurant Story. The tasting menu-only restaurant earned a Michelin star five months after opening when the chef (who has worked at Noma and Per Se) was just 26. It has held on to the star for the past five years and continues to be a favorite amongst the capital’s food-loving residents. Each dish on the ever-changing menu represents a nostalgic memory from the young chef’s life. During my birthday dinner, we had Alba white truffles with celeriac, Oscietra caviar with veal sweetbread­s and turnip, and the infamous bread and beef dripping course, where the beef fat is collected and turned into a candle.
