With a promise to serve the food of modern-day Jerusalem, Palomar was one of the first “can’t get a table” restaurant­s I encountere­d when I moved to London in 2014. I’ve since been lucky enough to score a seat at either their bar counter right in front of the chefs or in the more intimate dining area with banquette seating. The menu features influences from Southern Spain, North Africa, and the Levant, with highlights being the stellar Kubaneh bread with tomato and tahini, the Shakshukit with beef, lamb, pistachio, and pine nuts, and the crispy seabream with lemon yogurt, radishes, and chermoula.
