Having been invited to the Smile Bar to partake in a teeth-whitening session, I was a little unsure what to expect. I had previously only done the procedure at my dentist’s, so the idea of visiting an establishment to have my teeth whitened by someone who was not a professional I was used to visiting was a little strange to me. Nevertheless, I was quite excited to go.
One thing first: There are two branches of Smile Bar: one in Uptown Parade, Bonifacio Global City and at Vertis North at Quezon City. My appointment had been set for me at the QC location, and unknowingly, I turned up at the BGC branch, as that was closest to my home. The mix-up was quickly taken care of and we were able to start the process.
Smile Bar offers a number of different packages for those in need for any kind of teeth whitening service. One Single Whitening Session lasts for 30 minutes, and includes an analysis of the type and degree of discoloration present in the teeth. Immediate results can vary from two to nine shades whiter. A Double Whitening treatment lasts for 60 minutes, while Triple Whitening is for 90 minutes. Because I had quite a lot of time, I partook of the Triple Whitening package. The sensation of having the gel and the clear retainer in my mouth, and having to sit still with a white light directed towards my face was not the most pleasant, but easy enough to get used to. I spent the time perusing my phone and reading a book.
After the session, the technician with me suggested a NanoSeal Total treatment, which is a one-minute sealing solution applied to seal the newly bright, shade of teeth I had gained. I was told to avoid eating or drinking for any hour. Smile Bar also provided their special brand of toothpaste and a toothbrush, and a coconut oil ampule to help sooth any irritated gums, which for me were minimal at best. When they checked over my teeth again, they noticed I jumped up eight shades in their comparison of my older color. I left happy and satisfied.
