LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

- @FIERCEDONG

Why has everyone been obsessed with beauty since the beginning of time? Why is it so powerful that it ruins lives, countries and even civilizations? Its immense power is astounding and we have just begun to understand its impact to self, others and the society we live in. Now comes health and wellness. They are not replacing beauty but they have become part of an ecosystem. As the role of beauty becomes even stronger, health and wellness trends become the new mindset that completes self love and self care. Everybody, more so to the people who have the means, know that health and wellness have become symbiotic to beauty. It is now part of everyone’s lives. We can no longer have a magazine that is solely focused on beauty.

There are beauty, health and wellness movements that will shape the new decade. The beauty industry has thrived on newness. On a good note, beauty has become more inclusive than ever, from innovations, customization and personalization, and sustainability. But there are several other movements flourishing that will impact this industry. Ageless beauty will take center stage and be celebrated, sustainable and conscious consumption will rise, not just in fashion but to the inclusion of mental health in the equation of beauty. While health and wellness consciousness is growing, the need to educate becomes primordial. “Healthy Living” cuts across healthy eating with some going to the extremes of blood analysis to avoid food allergies and food bloat because they are not being digested properly. Integral to this healthy living is exercising. Last year was the year I saw the proliferation of newly launched exercises. We are featuring individuals who are leading the charge in beauty, health and wellness. Industry leaders in aesthetic lasers, Doron & Cherryl Glazer share their philosophies in training, service and providing the best technologies from around the world in the Philippines. Bianca Araneta-Elizalde, highlights tips on how to live a healthy lifestyle and balancing it with family and professional life and speaks of her venture into the healthy eating business. Rissa Mananquil-Trillo talks about beauty and makeup and how to stay ahead of competition. Last but not the least, Dr. Lia Bernardo, shares her wisdom on mental health. Read about her wonderful message of self-love and acceptance which are crucial in today’s cruel world.

This issue doesn’t only aim to educate on the new things that are happening in the Beauty, Health and Wellness industries. We also want to form an opinion and help individuals take good care of themselves in a way that is more personal to their lifestyles. That these initiatives that they take lead to meaningful empowerment and positive transformation amongst themselves. So who best to talk about this than cover girl, Dr Aivee Teo. The Aivee Clinic has been known to innovate and level up the beauty industry to something we have never seen before. They understand their clients deeply and have become trusted partners not just in beauty but also in health and wellness. Read about her beautiful story and message about total beauty that goes beyond appearances and encompasses life.
