CCharles Tiu and Sari Lazaro met through common friends, on a night out at Polilya. Together for a year and a half, they went on a vacation to El Nido where Chris set up a private dinner on a treetop area at a private resort facing the beach. "After dinner, and a few drinks, he proposed,” says Sari.
Before the pandemic, the original wedding was supposed to take place in Rome, Italy. After, everything had to be simplified, and Charles and Sari decided to have an intimate celebration with just immediate family and a few friends present at Tagaytay Highlands, a place that Sari says was very efficient and accommodating.
Sari says that while they were quite sad to not celebrate their wedding the way they wanted, they knew that at the end of the day, the most important thing was the marriage and not the wedding. They had a live stream set up so those not present could view the proceedings from the safety of their homes. The guests present wore a Pantone shade of blue selected by the bride. "They had the freedom to pick an outfit from their closet or buy online and have them shipped here. It all worked out,” she says.
Despite everything, Sari says that what made her wedding special is its intimacy. "We were able to get some of our close friends and family there, and to be able to pull it off during this pandemic was already a blessing itself,” she says, happily.
