Do you think Instagram is killing fashion week or the fashion scene in particular?” we ask. She pauses for a moment before answering with brevity, “No. They both can coexist.” Ira Denise Oyco, a fashion and lifestyle influencer makes sure that she secures her place in the industry. The 25-year old has pretty much made a name for herself at an early age, managing her time between

juggling her business, Rhipes Clothing, and her personal blog. “I never expected my personal blog to gain that much following. It started with my online clothing brand, which has so much more followers than I do, then I also began posting my outfits and received good feedback.” Ira’s had a stunning year in 2018, traveling to places she only once dreamed of, and finally being able to buy her own condo unit using her investments from Rhipes’ 7-year venture. One thing she tries to keep in mind is to seize the moment all while keeping her business and blog alive. “I try my best to enjoy every moment that I can, ‘cause we all know creating content can be time-consuming.” C’est la vie, such is life. We only have one life to live and Ira Oyco is certainly making the most out of it by being unafraid to conquer new heights and treading the path that was set before her.

looking forward to more travels this year. I also surpassed my goal late last year by hitting the 60,000 target on my personal fashion account and 90,000 for my online store.

APART FROM FASHION, WHAT F IELDS OR ACTIVITIES INTEREST YOU? Definitely interior design and painting. I just recently renovated my room and thankfully it was a hit. I DIY-ed almost everything in my room. I also love to paint during my spare time so most of my room’s paintings are done by yours truly.

DESCRIBE YOUR AESTHET IC. WHAT

I S YOUR STYLE

PHI LOSOPHY? My style is all over the place. I would usually tell the people who are curious about my style how I would be wearing a full-on girly outfit with sexy slits and high heels, then wear trousers, tees and sneakers the next day.

We are currently living in an era where fashion evolves so quick. So, you cannot stick to a single style, unless you’re that hard core. Eventually, however, you will still find yourself going back to your style staples. ARE YOU A PLANNER OR A SPUR- OF- THEMOMENT DRESSER?

I am definitely a spur-of-themoment dresser. I can wear an outfit that I am 100% sure of, but as soon as I am about to walk out of the door, I end up wearing something different.

DO YOU HAVE ANY STYLE ICONS WHOM YOU LOOK UP TO? I definitely love Princess Diana. She is my ultimate fashion icon. She is so classy and always brings that extra spark to an outfit with her confidence and spirit. I also find myself picking up inspiration from Victoria Beckham, Blake Lively and Kendall Jenner recently. I love how they all incorporate masculine aspects of clothing to their everyday wardrobe.

P ICK YOUR POI SON: BAGS OR SHOES? Shoes. I can l do numerous outfit posts without carrying a bag actually. WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE DESIGNERS OR BRANDS LOCALLY OR ABROAD? WHY DO YOU LIKE THESE IN PARTICULAR? I have a lot in mind but my absolute favorite designers internationally are Elie Saab, Vera Wang and Christian Dior. Locally, it’s Francis Libiran. For brands, I love Revolve, Reformation, Stradivarius and Zara. For my favorite local brand, have you heard of Rhipe’s Backyard? I heard they make really good clothes.

QUICK, YOUR CLOSET’ S ON F IRE! WHAT ARE THE F IRST THREE THINGS YOU WOULD SAVE? My three most valuable coats I guess? Others, I can easily buy again.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT OBSESSION. In the arts and fashion world, aside from my usual obsession over clothes with pockets, I am totally obsessing over anything with high slits. I’m also obsessed with redecorating my room. In the entertainment world, aside from my usual daily dose of Netflix, I am currently obsessing over the Bohemian Rhapsody and Queen songs.

WHAT’ S NEXT FOR YOU? Well hopefully after a few months, we’ll be hitting our brand’s goal of a hundred thousand followers. After that, I’ll be working on our official showroom/headquarters, which will be open to the public. Personally, I will continue to strive for quality content for you guys. Also, more travels, beach trips, and more projects are what I am hoping for.

I TRY MY BEST TO ENJOY EVERY MOMENT THAT I CAN, ‘ CAUSE WE ALL KNOW CREATING CONTENT CAN BE TIMECONSUMING”
