If it were possible to crown a fashion designer from the industry as retail royalty, Rhett Eala would be certainly be in line for the throne

In the fashion world, when a new kid comes up on the block, most of them think the only way to steal the scene is to release a full-blown couture collection—complete with oversized petticoats, exaggerated shoulders, and stunningly embellished pieces. While it isn’t necessarily a bad thing, some people prefer to take the road less traveled. Rhett Eala is a testament to this, having immersed himself in designing clothes for the everyday woman. With a decade-long career in Rustan’s as in-house designer for their women’s line, he became a trailblazer in the 90s. Everything he created became a hit with the youth and to sophisticated working women alike. He knew the industry needed a little push, so with his unceasing and limitless flair, he started to design pieces that married both the extravagance of made-to-order with the sensibilities of ready-to-wear.

When you breeze through his ready-to-wear collection this season, you’ll see individual pieces—a nostalgic accoutrement of beautiful brocade, lace appliques, jewel-toned prints all in fine, feminine silhouettes. Today, Rhett continues to create pieces that encapsulate a woman’s grace and glamour, all while staying true to his vision and dream.
