It was the fangs. When Gucci released their brand new lipstick collection, everyone stared at the ivory incisors framed by the glossy, cherry red lipstick. It’s not the first time high fashion dared in bring in beauty that wasn’t, well, “beautiful.” Does this mean the end of the “classic” iterations of beauty? Not at all. We still like straight teeth and tall, lithe figures. But we also like a gap-toothed smile, small breasts, shapely hips, curly hair, rainbow hair, dark skin, freckled skin. This month we celebrate women and beauty of all kinds.
