The video is an anti-thesis to the sometimes carefully manicured and meticulous appearances in selfies. #SuperSelfie is a hashtag that Valenciano has helped evolve into an international meme. It invites each of us to take a look not at the selves we so vainly depict in selfies, but the unabashedly “real” versions of ourselves. Gab Valenciano has started a movement and the world is taking notice. Soon after its initial online success (2.5 million views and counting), Gab was brought on-board to consult on Beyonce’s music video for her song 7/11.
