RICHARD MILLE RM 016 AUTOMATIC EXTRA FLAT

The introduction of the RM 016 in 2007 was a milestone for Richard Mille because this was the independent watchmaker’s first rectangular timepiece. Designed as a dress watch, the RM 016 is only 8.25mm thick. Its slimness allows it to slip under the sleeve with consummate ease while, at 38mm wide, it can sit atop the wrist comfortably due to its slightly tapered case lugs. But don’t let its slender size fool you. Although compact, this dynamo of a watch is not only hardy but also incorporates the very same attention to detail and technical achievement as all other Richard Mille watches. All structural components — including the case and the pared-down skeletonised automatic-winding movement — are made from titanium. This watch also boasts Richard Mille’s unique variablegeometry winding rotor, which permits the user to specify the winding efficiency of the watch at the time of service. Available in titanium, red gold, white gold and various diamond settings, the RM 016 comes with a supple strap composed of lightweight Kevlar and a sliver of soft calf leather.
