Richard Mille is known for pushing technical and creative boundaries when creating watches that blend spaceage materials with age-old decorative techniques. The RM 037 Ladies Automatic, made from carbon TPT, is a testament to the watchmaker’s skill in creating highly innovative timepieces studded with precious diamonds. Embellishing carbon TPT with precious gems is no easy task, as the material’s hardness and resistance necessitates the use of special machines to handle mitraillage — the drilling of holes into the material that will later house the stones. The brand succeeded nonetheless, and the finished product is not only a horological wonder but a brilliant beauty. The watch is driven by a skeletonised automatic movement with satin, chamfered, blasted, brushed and polished finishing that offers a power reserve of 50 hours. The pavé diamond inner dial mirrors the shape of the bezel. The RM 037 is also available in TPZ black ceramic, in ATZ white ceramic and in white or red gold. The NTPT Full Set version shimmers with 250 diamonds.
