Breguet
Abraham-louis Breguet had a long career as a creator of significant timepieces and was appointed as official chronometer maker to the French Royal Navy by Louis XVIII, King of France, in 1815. To revisit the brand’s heritage as an authority on calculating longitude at sea, Breguet has produced the Marine Équation Marchante 5887; a Grande Complication encased in platinum. It’s a perpetual calendar that also runs the equation of time (indicated by the difference between civil and solar time), and a 60-second tourbillon. Unveiled at Baselworld 2017, this marine-inspired watch is touted as the brand’s flagship model of the year.
