Italian style powerhouse Bulgari smashed a third world record this year with the Octo Finissimo Automatic, which is now the slimmest self-winding watch on the market. Clocking in at just 5.15mm total thickness, the Octo Finissimo Automatic is the latest in the Finissimo line, after the Tourbillon and Minute Repeater. It features the new Calibre BVL 138 in-house movement, which was designed uniquely for the watch and is a mere 2.23mm thick. The attractive Octagonal shape of the 40mm sandblasted titanium case is said to reference Italian architecture, in a nod to the roots of the maison. The watch went on to pick up the prize for best men’s watch at the prestigious Grand Prix d’horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) in 2017.
