La Esmeralda Tourbillon “À Secret”
This watch is an homage to La Esmeralda Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges, created by Constant Girard- Perregaux and winner of a Gold Medal at the 1889 Universal Exhibition in Paris. The first thing that struck us about the timepiece is its fine, detailed craftsmanship, including a hand- engraved guilloché upper mainplate, and a lower mainplate featuring a Côtes de Genève motif. The secret in its name is a hinged back cover, exquisitely engraved with three galloping horses, which swings open to reveal the automatic movement through a sapphirecrystal caseback. This is a one- off piece made by a single master watchmaker.
