A Lange & Söhne produced a one- off timepiece for the Geneva- based charity Children Action Foundation, which achieved a record auction price for a Lange wristwatch at Phillips in Geneva. The Homage to Walter Lange was produced in memory of the watchmaker, who died in 2017. With a black enamel dial and stainless- steel case, it features a jumping sweep- seconds mechanism and small seconds at 6 o’clock. The jumping seconds is an unusual complication for measuring brief events; on this watch, it’s activated with a pusher at 2 o’clock.
