Classique Tourbillon Extra- Plat Automatique 5367

Breguet has long made elegant simplicity an art form. The maker’s metallic blue hands, featuring an open circle near the tip, are instantly recognisable. This watch in the Classique line is the ultimate expression of grace and simplicity, with a 42mm rose- gold case featuring an exposed tourbillon at the 5 o’clock position on its stunning grand feu white enamel dial, which has the hour markers slightly offset to give it an added dash of playfulness. It has an 80- hour power reserve.

La Esmeralda Tourbillon “À Secret”

This watch is an homage to La Esmeralda Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges, created by Constant Girard- Perregaux and winner of a Gold Medal at the 1889 Universal Exhibition in Paris. The first thing that struck us about the timepiece is its fine, detailed craftsmanship, including a hand- engraved guilloché upper mainplate, and a lower mainplate featuring a Côtes de Genève motif. The secret in its name is a hinged back cover, exquisitely engraved with three galloping horses, which swings open to reveal the automatic movement through a sapphirecrystal caseback. This is a one- off piece made by a single master watchmaker.

Mastergraff Ultra Flat Tourbillon Metiers D’art Graffiti

Diamond expert Graff has produced a series of three watches that combine the maker’s expertise with diamonds with the arts of micro- painting and enamelling. Three Japanese- art- inspired watches are the result. The Graffiti caught our eye: evoking Takashi Murakami, it celebrates traditional Japanese motifs such as the lotus blossom and geisha, albeit in a very contemporary manner. However, the Graff 4 hand- wound flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock is a reminder of the timepiece’s technologically advanced heart.
