March 22
This 13th-century thangka painting of a lama is one of the earliest Tibetan art works to have survived the ravages of time. Measuring an impressive 93cm by 72cm, it’s part of the Richard R & Magdalena Ernst Collection of Himalayan Art auction at Sotheby’s New York and is expected to fetch at least US$1.5 million.
