Japanese pearl purveyor Mikimoto continued its 125th anniversary celebrations with the grand opening at the end of last month of its eighth store in Hong Kong and Macau. The latest outpost, at Ocean Terminal in Harbour City, occupies 420 square feet, with sleek marble and wood finishes lending a graceful, contemporary feel. It offers the brand’s delicately crafted jewellery pieces, including the cultured pearls that founder Kokichi Mikimoto made famous.
