Nature or Nurture?

Prestige Hong Kong - - AGENDA DINING -

Whisky aficionados have a unique opportunity to compare the maturation effects of casks of different oak on the same distillate with the issue of the latest in the Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection series, twin decanters of an extremely rare 1961 Longmorn single malt. The new-make spirit, some nurtured in European oak and some in American oak, has over the 57 years since its distillation evolved into two expressions quite different in character, colour and nose. Released in October, just 97 sets of twin decanters are available at £30,000, with 40 sets earmarked for Asia.
