This metallic blue meteorite is actually McLaren’s new Speedtail, a three-seat hybrid hyper GT car whose slippery shape, 1,035bhp output and relatively lithe 1,430kg weight should together help it reach a top speed in excess of 400km/h — and accelerate from a standstill to 300 klicks an hour in a scarcely believable 12.8 seconds. Interested? Of course you are — but there are, inevitably, a couple of catches. One, you’ll need to dig deep — US$2.25 million deep. Two, all 106 examples have been snapped up anyway.
