What? God’s Love We Deliver, which provides meals to the homeless and deprived of New York, hosted its 2018 Golden Heart Awards with a glamorous evening at the city’s Spring Studios. During the event, six New York restaurants – Gramercy Tavern, Murray’s Cheese Bar, Katz’s Deli, Empellón, Russ & Daughters and Antica Pesa – offered guests a taste of their staples. Straight from the heart: Three awards were presented: the Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service went to actor Hugh Jackman; the Golden Heart Award for Outstanding Volunteerism was presented to auctioneer and philanthropist Jamie Niven; and the Golden Heart Award for Lifetime Achievement was awarded to Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and screenwriter Tony Kushner. The celebrity turnout included Honorary Chairwoman Anna Wintour and Co-Chair Michael Kors, as well as Aerin Lauder and a host of other VIPs from Broadway, the cinema, society and politics.
