HAND-MADE PERFECTION

With the Greubel Forsey Hand Made 1, the independent brand has shown the world that it’s not impossible to hand-manufacture a finely finished creation that matches the very high standards of its regular production watches. In fact, 95 percent of the 43.5mm white-gold tourbillon watch, which displays hours, minutes and seconds, is made using hand-operated tools — and that includes its hairspring. The entire piece takes 6,000 hours (or three years of man-hours), by a team comprising some of the world’s most skilled artisans. Only two to three examples will be made annually.
