A new Hong Kong luxury label comes with an impeccable artisan spin and a campaign inspired by Botticelli’s Renaissance masterpiece, The Birth of Venus.

Sauvereign is the brainchild of Bertrand Mak, who’s made a signature from a pioneering in-house application technique of 24K gold leaf that features on the gem-like hardware of bags, shoes and belts. The intricate patterns on these gems might be inspired by traditional calligraphy or artists such as Andy Warhol, with a feeling that mixes fashion with objets d’art. The collections are built upon a range of these bespoke Gems, which are entirely customisable by their owners – a novel and couture-leaning approach. One of our favourite items is the versatile Aphrodite handbag (it also converts to crossbody), which is made from exquisite hides sourced in France’s finest tanneries. This version – a Landmark store exclusive in Gold Pink Calf Box with a 24K Gold Purple Fairy Gem clasp – is entirely cut, stitched and dye-edge painted by hand, and is totally divine.
