Patek Philippe celebrates the Perpetual Calendar in its 2nd Knowledge Series
Patek Philippe hosted the second instalment of its Knowledge Series in Singapore and threw the spotlight on one of the most sophisticated horological grand complications, the Perpetual Calendar. Held at the Supreme Court Terrace, National Gallery Singapore, the Knowledge workshop was presented by Patek Philippe Southeast Asia’s General Manager, Deepa Chatrath, who spoke about the evolution of the calendar, key historical calendar watches, and the technical specificities of the grand complications. Vintage models, along with three additional historical Perpetual Calendar watches loaned from the Patek Philippe Museum-geneva, were displayed at the National Gallery. Also on show was the Patek Philippe yellow gold open-faced pocket watch with instantaneous perpetual calendar in apertures — P-899 — a technical feat to achieve as using apertures to display the information requires a lot of energy.
