Patek Philippe cel­e­brates the Per­pet­ual Cal­en­dar in its 2nd Knowl­edge Se­ries

Patek Philippe hosted the se­cond in­stal­ment of its Knowl­edge Se­ries in Singapore and threw the spot­light on one of the most so­phis­ti­cated horo­log­i­cal grand com­pli­ca­tions, the Per­pet­ual Cal­en­dar. Held at the Supreme Court Ter­race, Na­tional Gallery Singapore, the Knowl­edge work­shop was pre­sented by Patek Philippe South­east Asia’s Gen­eral Man­ager, Deepa Cha­trath, who spoke about the evo­lu­tion of the cal­en­dar, key his­tor­i­cal cal­en­dar watches, and the tech­ni­cal speci­fici­ties of the grand com­pli­ca­tions. Vin­tage mod­els, along with three ad­di­tional his­tor­i­cal Per­pet­ual Cal­en­dar watches loaned from the Patek Philippe Mu­seum-geneva, were dis­played at the Na­tional Gallery. Also on show was the Patek Philippe yel­low gold open-faced pocket watch with in­stan­ta­neous per­pet­ual cal­en­dar in aper­tures — P-899 — a tech­ni­cal feat to achieve as us­ing aper­tures to dis­play the in­for­ma­tion re­quires a lot of en­ergy.
