GLENN SPIRO
Glenn Spiro runs a private jewellery house where he turns humble gemstones into trendsetting creations, which make the world sit and take notice. “There is a confident, brave aesthetic that transcends everything we do. Art and jewellery collectors around the world — who find us at eminent art fairs at which we now exhibit — wear our jewels,” Glenn shares.
Famous for his Papillon ring that flutters with the slightest movement of the finger, as well as his Reveal rings, Glenn has managed to surprise the jewellery world with his design and technological genius. Sharing his mantra, Glenn says: “Apart from the obvious, I suppose our contribution has been to show the jewellery world that it’s ok to not follow the norm. Believe in what you do, be patient, and success will follow.”
The creation of their Reveal watches, which they launched last year, was a huge step for the brand. “We used the mechanism we pioneered in our Reveal rings in the watches with astonishing effect. They are incredibly difficult to make and we really pushed the limits of our craftsmen. But we like to push the boundaries with what is possible, so we were very happy when it finally worked.”
One of his many achievements is when Beyoncé donated her Papilon ring to the Victoria & Albert Museum Jewellery Gallery, where it now sits in the permanent exhibition, alongside some of the greatest historical and contemporary jewels in the world.
