LORENZ BÄUMER
Lorenz Bäumer is a visionary who is not afraid to push the boundaries of jewellery design. From his boutique at the legendary Place Vendôme in Paris, Lorenz showcases his daring creations, bringing together poetry and fine jewellery design innovation for discerning clients to enjoy.
For more than a quarter of a century, Lorenz has approached jewellery design differently, thanks to his educational background as an engineer. His audacious and innovative pieces are inspired by either poetry or architecture. He is one of the post-modern heirs to the legacy of high jewellery designer Jean Schlumberger, who did his finest work for Tiffany & Co. Lorenz also displays the same sense of volume and sensibility for coloured gemstones, but his creations have an edge and attitude about them, which were never seen in the mid-20th century.
In 2010, Lorenz created the Ecume de Diamants tiara for princess Charlène of Monaco for her wedding to Prince Albert II. His works have been recognised internationally through various prestigious exhibitions, among them the National Jewelry Institute of America in 1997. In France, four of Lorenz’s jewels are included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris.
Prior to carving his own name in the industry, Lorenz has designed for Chanel Fine Jewellery between 1988 and 2007, joined Louis Vuitton as artistic director for fine jewellery in 2009, and done freelance work for the Austrian crystal manufacturer Swarovski.
