Beirut- based fine jewellery house Yeprem has taken diamond jewellery to new heights with its sensual ‘body art’ jewels. Hand pieces, full-finger rings, and ear cuffs in distinct, avant-garde styling have garnered the brand an ardent celebrity following.

Staying within fine jewellery lines, the family jeweller has drawn on the bold vision of the second generation, the children of the founder, Yeprem Chakardemian, to create its daring interpretation of a classic genre. The signature Claw collection is its most successful. The Claw handpiece is set with marquise-shaped diamonds attached to a gold hand cuff, which, according to chief designer and Yeprem’s son — Loutfic Chakardemian — has been precisely melded to ensure comfort. Another favourite is the Ararat hand piece, composed of strands of diamonds that nestle over the entire surface of the hand. “The jewel not only embodies our design philosophy, but its abstract form represents Mt Ararat and the brand’s Armenian heritage,” says Loutfic.

Among Yeprem’s revolutionary design ideas was to incorporate the marquise shape, the darling of classical diamond pieces, into its edgy designs, a contrast that immediately set the jewels apart. Madonna, Rihanna, and Jennifer Lopez are among the celebrities who wear the brand.
