While Ma On Shan is a relatively small town compared to most others in the New Territories, it is served by a good selection of shopping malls. MOSTOWN is connected to the MTR station and consists of five interconnected phases, boasting plenty of retail and food and beverage options. Emperor Cinemas will soon be opening a new branch in MOSTOWN, the brand's third movie theatre in Hong Kong. Ma On Shan Plaza is located closer to the waterfront, and is rather famous in the area because of its indoor merry-go-round and water-operated clock tower. The Waterside Shopping Mall sits between the above two, and mainly contains children's entertainment and learning centres.
