PROPERTIES IN SCHOOL NET 41

-

There are essentially no large-scale residential estates in Kowloon City as the majority are standalone buildings. The sheer number of these old walk-up tong lau buildings poses difficulties for new constructions; they can only be slowly bought out, which is why new developments are generally also small standalone buildings.

If you're looking at living in the area just because of the school net, then you could consider a tong lau in Kowloon City, which may be found for prices as low as HK$10,000 per month. If walk-ups are not your cup of tea, then keep an eye out for the newer development High Place by Henderson Land, with 76 units ranging from 181 to 656 square feet in studios, one- and two-bedroom configurations that come with a storeroom.

For those who have the budget to blow, there are plenty of options in Kowloon Tong such as One Mayfair by Sino Land which opened for move-in from March 2012. The development consists of six blocks, each with 10 floors, providing 120 units which range from 1,375 to 3,100 square feet in size. Additionally, there are plenty of car parking spaces; each unit gets an average of 1.3 lots. Prices for One Mayfair start at HK$40 million.
