Boundless Future Development Opportunities in Lam Tin

-

Hidden halfway up the hills of Lam Tin is a tranquil, peaceful residential area surrounded by large green spaces. Located in Kowloon East's Mid-levels, it sits above the city streets yet boasts great accessibility to the Lam Tin MTR station and the Kowloon side entrance of the Eastern Harbour Crossing. In addition to a highly-developed transport network, and thanks to the government's Energizing Kowloon East initiative, the entire district has undergone a major transformation and is on its way to becoming the city's next CBD.

Proximity to CBD2

As a typical residential area, Lam Tin has a comprehensive range of facilities. From Lam Tin MTR station, Kowloon East— known as Hong Kong's CBD2—IS only one station away. It's here that you'll find a forest of shimmering Grade A offices where many international corporations have set up their Hong Kong operations and with more commercial and business spaces to be built, it will make the area a major supplier of commercial floor space in the future. The Kai Tak Development will provide 1.06 million square metres of commercial floor space, which includes commercial buildings, hotels and retail spaces, and is double of what Hong Kong's traditional CBD, Central, offers. With the planned arrival of department store SOGO and two underground shopping streets, it will bring added convenience to Lam Tin residents.

Lam Tin is an advantageous place to live for office workers as the Eastern District's core business area is only two MTR stations away. Furthermore, the opening of Tuen Ma Line Phase 1 will provide greater connectivity to the New Territories while the MTR Exhibition Centre station will give residents easy access to Hong Kong Island via the Kai Tak MTR station.

Kai Tak is a breezy four-minute drive while Central is a short car ride through the Eastern Harbour Crossing and the Central-wan Chai Bypass, with only three traffic lights along the way. In addition, several road infrastructure projects are nearing completion, including the Trunk Road T2 which goes through the Kowloon Bay area and connects to the Central Kowloon route. It will allow drivers to reach West Kowloon and New Territories from Lam Tin in just 10 minutes.

An Abundance of Greenery

Despite its proximity to the Lam Tin MTR station and the city bustle, Kowloon East's Mid-levels is a serene enclave filled with lush greenery and fresh air. Nearby, you will find 77 hectares of country parks and green areas including the Wilson Trail which is Hong Kong's second longest hiking path. Spend some time hiking up the hills, with family and friends via Section 3 of the Wilson Trail, stop by the Little Hawaii Falls along the way and catch the sunset on Devil's Peak or alternatively, for a more relaxed family day out, head to the adjacent Sai Tso Wan Recreation Ground for a picnic.

An Artsy Atmosphere

Apart from outdoor activities, Kowloon East's Mid-levels has a myriad of hip, artsy shops, as well as cafes, party rooms and various workshops, giving the neighbourhood a laidback and playful atmosphere. Whether you're sipping on a cup of coffee, trying your hand at pottery or simply reading a book on a sunny afternoon, you'll find little sparkles of joy around every corner of Lam Tin.
