TATLER SAYS
Since its revamp, Bostonian Seafood & Grill has leant in even more towards seafood dishes. Start with pristine seasonal oysters served on a bed of ice; alternatively, the seafood tower is one of the city's best. Steakhouse classics such as Maryland crab cakes and meaty mains such as Iberian pork loin are popular items. The selection of steaks is humble but reliable, sourced from Australia and USA. Save room for the baked Alaska, flambéed tableside and good for sharing. Service can be hit or miss in terms of wine recommendations, but they offer trusted updates on seasonal oysters and seafood recommendations.
SIGNATURE DISHES
• Market oysters
• House dry-aged steak
• Seafood tower
TATLER TIP
Bostonian's oyster selection is widely popular with an ever-rotating selection from around the world. Ask the staff for recommendations and rare finds.
TATLER SAYS
Brut reminds us of the unpretentious but highly accomplished wine bars with excellent food that are found in cities like London,
New York and Melbourne, and we're glad to have something so original in Hong Kong. Chef Gavin Chin has taken the reins and steered the menu in an unabashedly free-form direction, with inventive dishes that combine influences and ingredients from myriad cuisines: local greens and lao gan ma sit alongside halloumi and jalapeño on the list, and the equally unorthodox wine list by Yulia Ezhikova adds plenty of opportunities to go outside your comfort zone.
SIGNATURE DISHES
Malaysian chicken
• curry
• Hokkaido scallops and hamachi
• Crispy rolls and tomatillo salsa
TATLER TIP
The menu frequently changes with the seasons, so we recommend opting for the six-course tasting menu where your meal is left to the chef's discretion.
