Brimming with Southern California charm with its mildly-lit laidback décor and palm trees-laden alfresco terrace, the Yenn Wong and Morgan McGlone-helmed all-American eatery stands in welcome contrast to the area’s surrounding soaring skyscrapers, with a menu boasting no shortage of quality classics. The double cheeseburger came with cheesecloaked juicy patties and spiceseasoned fries, and the fish tacos lent a textured, zesty crunch—the bulgogi and soft shell crab versions are also crowdpleasers. While the crab ensalada lacked the expected flavour hit, the buffalo wings dipped in creamy blue cheese sauce provided the perfect zesty kick as an appetiser. The surprising show-stealer, however, was the salted caramel pretzel milkshake—spiked with a dash of wild turkey bourbon—that had diners ooh-ing and ahh-ing over its presentation and creamy, crunchy goodness in every sip. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, a wide-ranging cocktail and beer list and the prime location make this one-year-old eatery a solid destination for weekend brunches, happy hours, or just the spontaneous get-together. Diners, take note that there is no table service at the alfresco terrace.
