It serves clas­sic bar food, made bet­ter with pre­mium in­gre­di­ents and con­tem­po­rary touches that are per­fect for shar­ing over a cock­tail and good ban­ter— whether it’s their sig­na­ture old fash­ioned with ice cold Terra Os­tra oys­ters, or a crisp gin and tonic with a plate of their beer bat­tered rock cod with cur­ried tartare sauce that will trans­port you to a cool night in Lon­don. The in­ti­mate set­ting, with dimmed lights and plush leather seat­ing, is per­fect for catch­ing up with friends and also makes for an im­pres­sive date spot. Most dishes, such as the salmon ril­lete with pink pep­per­corns and trout roe, truf­fle fat chips and cauliflower frit­ters, are great for shar­ing while their se­lec­tion of burg­ers and sand­wiches, in­clud­ing the spicy soft shell crab burger, roast beef sand­wich and but­ter­milk fried chicken burger are great for a bit of self in­dul­gence. The duck scotch egg fea­tures beau­ti­fully bal­anced flavours, and is rich and in­dul­gent but not sick­en­ingly so. If you’re head­ing there with a group of friends, re­quest one of the two spa­cious pri­vate rooms. The large ta­bles are per­fect for cre­at­ing a deca­dent spread of food and drinks to be en­joyed slowly and pur­pose­fully through­out the night.
