It is with good rea­son that this long-stand­ing Din­ing Con­cepts restau­rant is con­sid­ered among the city’s best sta­ples for tra­di­tional In­dian fare. The invit­ing atmosphere, with its dimmed light­ing, well-spaced seat­ing and an easy­go­ing staff cer­tainly plays a part; but it is the su­perb menu crafted by chef Ahmed Qureshi, serv­ing up an eclec­tic va­ri­ety of In­dian favourites boast­ing au­then­tic yet ad­ven­tur­ous flavours, that steals the show. It is hard to choose one stand­out from it, ei­ther—the well-sea­soned murgh tikka me­thi malai (bone­less chicken ke­babs flavoured with burnt gar­lic and fenu­greek) served with a tangy mint sauce is ten­der and suc­cu­lent, while we love the fluffy, chewy gar­lic nan that plays the per­fect side­kick to strong mains such as the ro­gan josh (meaty lamb chunks cooked in onion and red pep­per sauce, a Kash­miri del­i­cacy), creamy palak pa­neer (homemade cot­tage cheese chunks and spinach) and tan­doori nisha (grilled prawns mar­i­nated in lemon juice, yo­ghurt, freshly ground pan roasted spices). Por­tions are gen­er­ous, and while the ar­rival of dishes suf­fers from the oc­ca­sional lag, it gives way to am­ple so­cial­is­ing with your din­ner com­pan­ions.
