A bit of a Lan Kwai Fong institution, this longstanding steakhouse has been one of Dining Concepts’ most stable and consistent establishments. Notable is how this Italian restaurant ages its own beef, as demonstrated by the aging drawers lining the wall adjacent to the semi-open kitchen, where guests can spot their steaks being prepared. Exposed brick walls, wooden tables, and a serving island with hanging copper pots lend a homely touch to the dining space, which feels akin to dining at a friend’s home. While the interior design is modest, the selection of starters and appetisers are impressive. Italianstyle meat cuts such as Fiorentina, Delmonico, and Bistecca del Capo are highly recommended and are great for large parties to share, while side dishes such as Brussels sprouts with apple and bacon; macaroni and cheese; and different execution of potatoes are strong accompaniments. Service is warm and friendly at Bistecca, and the staff show comprehensive knowledge of the restaurant’s food and wine offerings.
