Phuket’s Patong beach has a reputation for its revelry and colourful nightlife, something that most upscale resorts may shy away from - but Hotel Indigo has wholly embraced the Patong’s electrifying atmosphere, harnessing it into a vibrant boutique hotel with a host of exquisite gastronomical offerings. Despite the foreboding name, Butcher’s Garden is a surprisingly convivial space, which makes best use of Patong’s proximity to the Andaman sea and offers the day’s freshest catch for you to pick. The restaurant is also, unsurprisingly, a butchery that serves up decadent cuts of meat hot off the grill, and has an impressive selection of wines for you to pair with your dinner. If you want to soak in Patong’s inimitable atmosphere, ‘Pots, Pints & Tikis’ delivers a more casual drinking experience in a rustic beer garden that offers a slew of tasty craft beers to sample. The real draw of the Indigo is its secret bar and the town’s first and only cigar room. The caveat? It’s only accessible with a rotating password - but it’s a place worth working to get into. No Name Bar is tucked away in the recesses of the hotel, offering an intimate and sophisticated way to wind down - or kick-start - a great night.

From top, Indigo Phuket welcomes guests with a dramatic, glistening lobby; its abstract rooftop bar overlooks downtown Patong
