Owning a property in NCR can restrict you applying for DDA flat
The DDA plans to bar those who own a house in NCR areas such as Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad from applying for a flat under its housing scheme 2014.
At present, only those who own property in Delhi are barred from applying in a housing scheme. DDA, however, wants to include house owners in the nearby satellite towns under the regulation too.
While any Indian resident can apply for a flat in a DDA housing scheme, those who already own a flat or any property in the Capital are not allowed to do so.
The DDA, however, feels that barring Delhi residents who own property and allowing those living just across the border is a dichotomy that needs to be removed.
The agency has already finalised the proposal and it has been sent to the Delhi Lt Gov- ernor Najeeb Jung, who is also the chairman of DDA, for his approval.

The housing scheme is expected to be launched by the end of July.
“Apart from house owners in Delhi, we now also want to exclude those in NCR areas such as Gurgaon and Noida,” DDA vice chairman Balvinder Kumar said.
“Only those who don’t have any property at all in Delhi-NCR should be allowed to apply in the housing scheme,” he said.
While DDA plans to bar property owners from the four nearest satellite towns of Delhi — Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad - the NCR encompasses 14 districts apart from Delhi, including Alwar in Rajasthan, Panipat in Haryana and Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh
