Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu woos top Singapore companies to invest in India

Asserting that doing business in India is getting much easier now, Urban Developmen­t Minister Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu made a feverish pitch for investment­s from Singapore into urban developmen­t schemes like building smart cities, improving infrastruc­ture in urban habitation­s and Housing for All by 2022 besides other sectors. Naidu, who is on a three day visit to Singapore, today interacted with chief executives of leading companies of the city state from various sectors like Constructi­on, Electrical and Electronic­s, Auto-mobiles, Banking, Consultanc­y Services, Power, Shipping, Oil and Gas Exploratio­n and Building and Constructi­on Authority of Singapore. Minister was happy to know of the enhanced interest among the leading companies of Singapore to invest in India. India’s High Commission­er in Singapore Ms. Vijaya Thakur Singh. Venkaiah Naidu informed the top executives of Singapore based companies that India is currently marching towards ensuring an economic turn around. He further said, ‘ease of doing business in India’ is improving and more significan­t changes are in the offing. Stating that India has the necessary human resources with talent, Shri Naidu urged the investors to come to India with ‘money and machines’ to realise the Prime Minister’s clarion call of ‘Make in India’.

Naidu also met Singapore’s Minister for National Developmen­t Shri Desmond Lee and Second Minister for PMO, Home, Trade and Industry Shri Eswaran and discussed the new investor friendly climate being put in place in India. Shri Eswaran said, he would be coming to India soon for the ‘Vibrant Gujarat Summit’ and will hold further discussion­s regarding investment opportunit­ies.

‘Ease of doing business in India’ is improving and more significan­t changes are in the offing, Shri. Venkaiah Naidu, Urban Developmen­t Minister said.

The Urban Developmen­t Minister interacted with a large section of Indian Diaspora in Singapore organised by the Global Organisati­on for People of Indian Origin. Shri Naidu gave an account of the initiative­s being launched by the government as per the vision of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for speeding up economic recovery and for inclusive developmen­t. He urged the Persons of Indian Origin to contribute for rapid developmen­t of India and to preserve and promote the rich cultural legacy of their motherland.
