Dr Mahalaxmi Wankhedkar, a Mumbai-based artist and scientist has come up with unique Synergistic Polyherbal Insecticidal Compositions for plant protection. She has completed PH.D. in NATUROVEDA in 2021. As founder of AMO Artwork OPC Pvt Ltd, Dr Mahalaxmi has received three patents for her products in Herbal insect Repellent composition; spray able synergistic Polyherbal Insecticidal Compositions and a Method for Preparation and Miraculous Energy Park- 2021. She has received awards from great scientist Dr Anil Kakodkar, Speaker of Parliament Manohar Joshi, President of SME and by Chandrakant Salunkhe for achieving 2 patents from the Government of India in Jagtik Marathi Chamber of Commerce in Mumbai 2006.

Besides her patent work, Dr Mahalaxmi worked on Environmental, Eco Friendly research, paintings and projects. She is currently working on ‘City Beautification’ projects with 'healing' as an objective.

A study was conducted on various insects like cotton ball worms and at the end of the three week cycle, the cotton ball worms were reduced to 75 per cent and favourable results were achieved with other insects like Whiteflies, Cutworms, Leafhoppers, Brownplant hoppers, Red Palm Weevil, among others.
