AI in global agriculture market

-

Looking ahead, the global AI in agriculture market is projected to witness remarkable growth, reaching $10.2 billion in 2032, according to a report by Market.us. AI has made substantial contributions to the agricultural sector by introducing innovative solutions through various businesses. Blue River Technology pioneered the market with an Ai-powered solution for weed management. Harvest CROO Robotics leads the industry in automated harvesting and packaging. Soil analysis is facilitated by Trace Genomics' expertise, while pest and defect diagnosis are managed by PEAT'S AI technology. Skysquirrel Technologies specialises in crop health monitoring. Blue River Technology’s application in lettuce thinning exemplifies its impressive artificial intelligence capabilities.

Key AI milestones in agriculture

● In April 2021, India and the United States launched the Us-india Artificial Intelligence (USIAI) Initiative through the Indo-u.s. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF), a jointly funded autonomous organisation. This initiative enables India to leverage American AI technology to enhance food grain production in agriculture.

● In June 2022, Israel initiated a strategic endeavour to integrate satellite technology and AI into agriculture. In collaboration with the Israel Space Agency, a satellite will be deployed to map agricultural regions and identify suitable areas for crop cultivation.

● In December 2023, China unveiled its first vertical plant factory in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, developed by the Institute of Urban Agriculture (IUA) at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). This innovative system employs Ai-driven robots for efficient lettuce growth and harvesting, in just 35 days.
