Lacoste up­dates its iconic croc­o­dile logo with 10 en­dan­gered species

French polo T-shirt brand Lacoste is re­plac­ing its icon­o­clas­tic croc­o­dile logo with newly minted lo­gos of 10 crit­i­cally en­dan­gered species for a lim­ited edi­tion range of T-shirts. This is the first time in Lacoste’s his­tory of 85 years that Lacoste will play with its logo. Aptly ti­tled ‘Save Our Species’, the ini­tia­tive is in part­ner­ship with the In­ter­na­tional Union for Con­ser­va­tion of Na­ture. A range of only 1,775 T-shirts, it was launched at the on­go­ing Paris Fash­ion Week and is now be­ing sold on a mi­crosite on its French web­site. The number of T-shirts in each logo se­ries tal­lies the re­main­ing pop­u­la­tion of the given species in the wild.
