Among the thou­sands of fab­ric sup­pli­ers, Sim­ran Tex­tiles is a 30-year old or­ga­ni­za­tion which is work­ing with many top ex­porters of home prod­ucts with its spe­cial­ized of­fer­ing of fab­rics. Now the com­pany is plan­ning to en­ter into wide range of home fur­nish­ing prod­ucts. Naresh Karia, Di­rec­tor of the com­pany in­formed: “Our spe­cial­iza­tion is in Poly Suede, blackout fab­ric, some de­vel­op­ments in poly twill, poly duck (with feel of cot­ton) is un­com­mon, and these kinds of va­ri­eties help ex­porters and buy­ers on var­i­ous fronts like ‘no shrink­age’, 100 per cent cot­ton feel in 100 per cent polyester, etc. It gives us an edge, and home fur­nish­ing man­u­fac­tur­ers them­selves come to us.”

With re­gard to do new, in­no­va­tive or fo­cus more on prod­uct de­vel­op­ment, de­spite hav­ing fewer re­sources, the com­pany does reg­u­lar prod­uct de­vel­op­ment. “Cost of hav­ing de­sign­ers is not pre­ferred by us but that doesn’t stop us to of­fer ‘new­ness’. We re­main in con­stant touch with ex­porters, visit na­tional and in­ter­na­tional sourc­ing events, and in­vite de­sign team from ex­port houses. All such ef­forts help us to of­fer some­thing new al­ways. Our pri­or­ity is do com­pli­cated or crit­i­cal kinds of fab­ric – fab­ric hav­ing more tech­ni­cal spec­i­fi­ca­tions – as it in­creases our ca­pa­bil­i­ties and gives good mar­gin also com­pared to nor­mal and stan­dard fab­ric,” claims Naresh, adding that, to do niche or what oth­ers don’t pre­fer helps him to mark his pres­ence strongly. “We take risk to in­vest more in niche and get the re­ward for the same in terms of good price,” he says.
