Af­ter Jhark­hand, Arvind Ltd. will ex­pand in Andhra Pradesh

Mov­ing to­wards ex­pan­sion, In­dian tex­tile and ap­parel con­glom­er­ate Arvind Ltd. is now mak­ing in­vest­ments in Chit­toor (Andhra Pradesh). The Group is also ex­pand­ing on re­tail front. With ini­tial in­vest­ments of

Rs. 250-300 crore, the com­pany plans to in­stall a ca­pac­ity of 24 mil­lion pieces of shirts and jeans per an­num in the state. For this the com­pany will have 100-125 acres of land. This ini­tia­tive is ex­pected to cre­ate 15,000 jobs in the first phase. In this re­gard, re­cently a MoU was signed be­tween the Andhra Pradesh Eco­nomic De­vel­op­ment Board and Arvind Ltd. Arvind will also set up an in­te­grated ap­parel and tex­tile park in Chit­toor and also fo­cus on skill de­vel­op­ment. Just 6 months ago, the Group also an­nounced Rs. 400 crore ex­pan­sions in gar­ment­ing in Jhark­hand to pro­duce nearly 24 mil­lion gar­ments an­nu­ally. On the other side, Arvind Life­style Brands also an­nounced the launch of 17 Gap shop-in-shops through multi-brand re­tail­ers. Through this, the com­pany will ac­cel­er­ate the avail­abil­ity of the prod­ucts around the coun­try, in­clud­ing sev­eral lo­ca­tions in key Tier II and III mar­kets. With this, Gap’s shop-in-shop for­mat will be in­tro­duced in In­dia.
