Ludhiana’s knitting and garment industry bet on growth
With regard to visitors, it was interesting to see that top management of many established garment manufacturers of Ludhiana visited the show. To name a few,
Jain Udhay Group, Superfine
Knitters, Miniking Knitwears, Selection Knitters etc. Most of these companies are already using advance technology. Despite that, it was the curiosity or knowledge thrust of the owners of such companies which motivated them to explore newness in the industry and to improve themselves more, wherever and however they can, through the technology displayed in the event. Like Miniking Knitwears just installed jeans automation machines of Vibemac and dyeing machines of Tonale, but both their Partners – Ashok Kumar Jain and Anup Jain along with their sons, spent quality time in the show to explore what is new.
Narinder K. Miglani, Director, Selection Knitters said, “I found some interesting technology here. Further, as soon as the overall market condition will improve, the industry will definitely go for the latest technology/automation.” Many middle- and small-level knitters, garment manufacturers explored various kinds of technologies. Most of them were of the opinion that business, be it export or domestic, is becoming more challenging, but they are trying to adopt all those tools or ways which have not been tried so far due to various reasons. Mohit Narang of JM Narang Hosiery also appeared impressed with automation in stitching machines. “Currently we have 90 machines and hope to expand our capacity in the future,” he added. Apart from Ludhiana, Team Apparel Online, who was present there for all four days, met many visitors of DelhiNCR, Panipat and few other garment/ textile hubs. Chandra Bhan Kataria, Founder & Director of Noida-based Katbro Corporation explored knitting and other machines in the show. Katbro Corporation is working with most of the top brands or retailers like Raymond, Colorplus, Wills, etc. Not only owners, but even mid-level professionals were also there from Delhi-NCR.
