CITI re-elected its of­fice bear­ers

Con­fed­er­a­tion of In­dian Tex­tile In­dus­try (CITI) has re-elected the of­fice-bear­ers at its AGM. San­jay K Jain, Manag­ing Di­rec­tor, TT Lim­ited, a ver­ti­cally in­te­grated tex­tiles com­pany

(fi­bre to fash­ion) hav­ing its man­u­fac­tur­ing units in var­i­ous States of the coun­try has been re-elected as Chair­man.

Ra­jku­mar, Chair­man, Sri Ma­hasak­thi Mills Lim­ited, Ker­ala, Sri Aru­muga En­ter­prise Lim­ited and Foun­da­tion One In­fras­truc­tures Pvt Ltd, Tamil Nadu, has been re-elected as Deputy Chair­man of CITI. D.L. Sharma, Di­rec­tor, Vardhman Tex­tiles Ltd. and MD of Vardhman Yarns and Threads Lim­ited, has been re-elected as Vice Chair­man.

San­jay stated that he and his team will fo­cus on re­build­ing the sta­tus of In­dian tex­tile in­dus­try as a ma­jor sourc­ing hub in the in­ter­na­tional mar­ket through best qual­ity prod­ucts and best price. He pointed out that ir­re­spec­tive of many ma­jor chal­lenges that In­dian tex­tiles in­dus­try wit­nessed in last few months, he is happy to see that the in­dus­try is again on the growth path.

Dur­ing the AGM, CITI also signed 2 MoUs. The MoU with ‘Na­tional Stock Ex­change’ will cre­ate aware­ness on manag­ing cur­rency risk and rais­ing of eq­uity cap­i­tal for MSMEs through stock ex­change plat­form. Sim­i­larly, CITI Chair­man high­lighted that the

MoU with ZDHC is for cre­at­ing aware­ness amongst tex­tiles and cloth­ing in­dus­try on zero dis­charge of haz­ardous chem­i­cals and ad­dress­ing en­vi­ron­men­tal is­sues on a sus­tain­abil­ity man­ner.
