Louise Trotter becomes Lacoste's first female creative director in 85 years
British designer Louise Trotter was appointed as the new Creative Director of Lacoste, the sports and leisurewear brand famous for its green crocodile logo, recently this month. In fact, after a long duration of 85 years, Lacoste got its first female Creative Director, which was previously held by the Portuguese designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista, who left the company in May.
Trotter, 49, was the Creative Director for the British label Joseph till July for nearly a decade. In 2014, she was the leading the charge for a Joseph womenswear catwalk show for the very first time during London Fashion Week, which gave the multibrand retailer’s own label more authority. Presently, Joseph’s own brand is the beating heart of the business, accounting for 87 per cent of the company’s global sales in 2015.
