CETA pos­i­tively af­fects Cana­dian ap­parel im­port from EU

In just one year since tak­ing ef­fect, CETA has gen­er­ated sig­nif­i­cant ben­e­fits, with in­crease in trade be­tween Canada and the EU. Ap­parel im­port from Por­tu­gal, Lux­em­bourg, Bul­garia and Ro­ma­nia in­creased fol­low­ing slashed tar­iff lines to zero per cent. De­spite the growth from EU, Asian man­u­fac­tur­ing hubs Viet­nam, In­done­sia and In­dia dom­i­nated the over­all Cana­dian ap­parel im­port dur­ing the re­view pe­riod, while Bangladesh felt the dent in its ex­port per­for­mance.
